YAY SAMANTHA COPE! Samantha Cope of Mills E. Godwin School is one of today’s “Yay of the Day” honorees. Superintendent Amy Cashwell honored her recently at the school.
YAYWORTHY— Nominator Elizabeth Eroshenko said: “Mrs. Cope goes above and beyond to make our class engaging, despite the virtual setting. She stays up late finding interesting videos for us to watch or planning virtual labs. Mrs. Cope always allows us time to discuss COVID-19 and any scientific developments. She really connects our genetics class directly to real world occurrences.”
Likitha Appalapuram said: “She’s smart, funny, understanding, helpful and kind. Examples of times she made a difference are, when she talked to the class about pregnancy and what a woman goes through, which lifted me up because I’ve faced things due to being female, and also when she talked about the importance of public safety through masks.”
Crystal Haught said: “She patiently answers my anxious child’s many questions with calm guidance every day. Her shared enthusiasm with my child’s research topic has eased him through a transition, both into a specialty center and into high school, in the land of virtual learning.”
Thank you for all you do to make a positive difference and move HCPS forward!
