YAY RICKY MALLORY! Ricky Mallory of Pinchbeck Elementary School, is one of today’s “Yay of the Day” honorees. Superintendent Amy Cashwell honored him recently at Pinchbeck.

YAYWORTHY— Nominator Aryn Carlson said: “My kids can’t wait for their weekly P.E. class with Mr. Mallory. He is an amazing PE teacher, and makes every student feel like they are an athlete. Mr. Mallory has gone above and beyond to make virtual P.E. exciting. For example, he has scavenger hunt games where the kids have to run around the house and find specific items as fast as possible. He has “spin the wheel” games where the kids virtually spin and then participate in that movement activity. Then, they are engaged and get to choose the next person to spin. I know my kids are having fun when the house is shaking because my kids are in P.E. class with an amazing teacher.”

“Mr. Mallory not only encourages students to move but he has implemented “Walk-at-School Wednesdays” once a month for our students. This is actually an event on the field of the school before the school day begins, where he encourages families to come and walk for about 30 minutes before the school day. Mr. Mallory gives out prizes to those who participate. The field is always crowded with parents, teachers and kids walking at school. My kids LOVE Walk-at-School Wednesdays so much that they want to walk TO school, then walk AT school. This year, Mr. Mallory encouraged virtual Walk-to-School Wednesdays and suggested kids get outside and walk, even at home. He also encouraged students to participate in the Regency Mile kids run. His enthusiasm for exercise is so contagious that our school was one of the top schools with participants in this event. We are very lucky to have Mr. Mallory (and all of his energy) as our P.E. teacher.”

Thank you for all you do to make a positive difference and move HCPS forward!
