YAY ERICA SHAW! Erica Shaw of the New Bridge Learning Center is today’s “Yay of the Day” honoree. Superintendent Amy Cashwell honored Erica recently at New Bridge.
YAYWORTHY— Nominator Temea Coker said: “Erica always has high energy, and wears a smile to class every single day. Coming into virtual learning I was beyond nervous and scared to see how it would work for daughter, who was 3 years old when school started. Speaking with Mrs. Shaw gave me hope from the beginning, and as time goes on, her words of affirmation to my daughter and the other kids consistently puts a smile on their faces. It’s honestly made such a positive impact on how my daughter views school, altogether. She’s always loved learning but she now genuinely looks forward to logging onto class every morning.”
Stephanie Henderson said: “Erica supports all students in our trauma-informed preschool classroom during virtual learning. She enhances the social-emotional curriculum through additional mindfulness moments and always uses ‘feeling language’ to help children when they have big emotions.”
Thank you for all you do, Erica, to make a positive difference and move HCPS forward!
