YAY MEGHAN GOULDIN! Meghan Gouldin of Ward Elementary School is today’s “Yay of the Day” honoree. Superintendent Amy Cashwell honored Meghan recently at Ward.

YAYWORTHY— Nominator Lashanda Melendez said: “She has designed engaging, fun activities for her P.E. classes using the space and materials they all have at home. The whole class participates, every week, as she leads them in meaningful activities that encourage movement. One example: Meghan gave the students instructions to create a jump rope using plastic grocery bags. Every one of the students in my class was eager to make their jump ropes and proudly displayed them the morning they had P.E. This activity gave the students an opportunity to practice resilience. When students aren’t in the building they don’t have access to the tools they would usually use. However, we are creative and can solve challenging problems. Meghan’s lesson gave them a practical application of that idea.”

Thank you for all you do, Meghan, to make a positive difference and move HCPS forward!
