YAY JOCEYLN HENRY-WHITEHEAD! Jocelyn Henry-Whitehead of Baker Elementary School is today’s “Yay of the Day” honoree. Superintendent Amy Cashwell honored Donna recently at Baker.

YAYWORTHY— Nominator Karen Smalls said: “She is an excellent teacher. She is patient with her pre-K class, her teaching keep the children engaged and she encourages her students all the time. When my daughter first started school, she had to go in for testing. My daughter was scared because she had to go by herself into the school with strangers. Dr. Whitehead was patient with her and told her why she was there and that nothing would happen to her while she was with her…I love the fact she takes her time with her students no matter the situation.”

Danielle Carter said: “She is the most proactive teacher out there. She takes a personal interest in her students and she is very passionate about her job. She called me after my son’s PALS test to let me know what I could do to help my son’s progress, using her personal observations. He’s definitely been progressing since then.”

Thank you for all you do, Jocelyn, to make a positive difference and move HCPS forward!
