YAY Sarah Moss! Sarah Moss, first-grade teacher at Tuckahoe Elementary School, is today’s “Yay of the Day” honoree. Superintendent Amy Cashwell honored Sarah recently at Tuckahoe.

YAYWORTHY— Nominator Shannon Reppard said: “She steps on the virtual stage each morning at 8 a.m. to encourage, engage and inspire her first-graders to learn! Her love of learning is contagious and the students are loving learning without even knowing that it is happening. Mrs. Moss is dynamic, passionate, creative and incredibly thoughtful, on and off the screen. We are so grateful to have her as our teacher, SCA teacher rep and journalism club teacher representative.

“When she knew my daughter (who is in fourth grade and not her student) was having a hard day and a rough week with virtual school, she encouraged her to challenge herself and join the school’s journalism club. She went out of her way to see my daughter, care for her and invite and encourage her! And, in her first grade class, she has created a entire family of fun characters who “sneak onscreen” to build up, cheer for and motivate her first-graders! Pirate hats, funny voices and her own HCPS students all make an appearance to inspire her young learners!”

Thank you for all you do, Sarah, to make a positive difference and move HCPS forward!
