The committees, along with HCPS redistricting consultant Cropper GIS, have released several draft versions of possible boundary changes, which can be compared at our redistricting page, henricoschools.us/redistricting/. The newest versions were released Dec. 19. They include a third draft option – Option C – for elementary, middle and high schools, and a fourth draft option – Option D – just for high schools. Citizens may send feedback about the drafts from a portal on the redistricting page.
The redistricting changes would not take effect until 2021-22 at the earliest. Some school boundary changes could be delayed until the 2022-23 school year, or phased in over two years.
Drafts will continue to evolve in accordance with feedback and new information. A final redistricting plan is expected to be adopted by the School Board in May.
