Senior Convocation

It was my pleasure to accept Douglas S. Freeman High School’s invitation to deliver the keynote address for the Class of 2019’s Senior Convocation. I likened the senior class to architects, and told students “You design for the present, with an awareness of the past, for a future that is unknown.” Later, students and parents heard our message about the six key skills and tools that we expect students to learn while in our schools: Critical thinking, creative thinking, quality character, global citizenship, communicating and collaborating. I can’t wait to see what these amazing students do as they return to the “drawing board” and design their futures.
