Henrico citizens are invited to an HCPS town hall meeting on academic progress. Come take part in a conversation with school and county leaders about how HCPS is addressing academic challenges and enhancing student achievement. The meeting will be Dec. 5 at Varina High School.
The overall number of fully accredited Henrico County schools rose to 48 this year, up from 45, but more work remains. The meeting will begin with a brief update, followed by a question-and-answer session on what schools are doing to meet the challenges and to become fully accredited.
Among those present to talk with attendees will be School Board representatives John Montgomery of the Varina District and Roscoe Cooper III of the Fairfield District. Representing the Board of Supervisors will be Tyrone Nelson, Board chairman and Varina District supervisor, and Frank Thornton, Fairfield District supervisor. Also taking part will be John Vithoulkas, Henrico county manager; Patrick C. Kinlaw, HCPS superintendent; and several school principals and other HCPS leaders.
