Directions for a Henrico Resident/Non HCPS Student to apply to ZippSlip

Important!  Please read before you begin.  

ZippSlip is an online forms tool used by Henrico County Public Schools. It is designed for a parent/guardian to fill out forms on behalf of a student. For all non HCPS students, a parent account must be created and used to submit an online Specialty Center Application. In other words, the parent is filling out the forms on behalf of the student.

  • There are required PDF forms within the packet that must be downloaded and completed.
  • There are certain items that are required to complete the application and must be uploaded to the packet for the application to be considered complete.
  • The application opens on November 20, 2017.
  • The application deadline is January 12, 2017.

  1. Go to the Web Address for ZippSlip:
  2. Click once on the green button “Not a User? Create Parent Account!”
  3. Fill out your information for creating your account which include name, email, password and phone and submit.
  4. Once on the page where an HCPS Parent would enter their student’s id number and birthdate, click Next.
  5. On the next screen, enter your student’s information and select Add Student and then select Next.
  6. The system will  ask you to re-enter your credentials.
  7. Once you are on the dashboard page, locate the packet titled: Specialty Center Application 2017 2018.
  8. Click once on the “Respond Now” button to begin the application process.
  9. Read the Description Message carefully and completely before proceeding. Note: There are documents located above the description that require you to download and complete. There are also items that must be attached to this application before the deadline window.
  10. Fill out each form completely. All required fields are noted with an asterisk.
  11. You can go ahead and complete all forms within the packet. Once you have the documents required to upload and complete the application, return to ZippSlip and locate the same packet. Note: If you completed the packet, it will be located under Previously Viewed/Responded School Communications. If you did not complete the packet, it will still reside under School Communications – Please View/Respond.
  12. Complete the upload of required documents which include:
    • As proof of residency please upload a copy of a document specified in each of Section 1, 2 and 3 (described in the Proof of Residency form).
    • Please upload the student transcript obtained by the counselor at your child’s school.
    • Please upload the project required for each center.

Note: The two teacher recommendations must be mailed to each center to which you wish to apply.
