Kristi Briggs Kinsella was elected Brookland District School Board representative in November 2019 and was re-elected for a second term in 2023. A longtime Brookland District resident and a Hermitage High School graduate, Kinsella is deeply engaged in her community.
Recognized for her outstanding contributions, Kinsella earned the Henrico NAACP Community Collaboration Award in 2022 and the Glen Allen Elementary School PTA Volunteer of the Year in 2019. In addition, Kinsella co-founded the advocacy group Equitable Advocates, co-chaired the Henrico Lay Advisory Committee and is an active member of the Glen Allen Ruritans. Her achievements reflect her unwavering commitment to making a positive difference for Henrico students and employees. Kinsella credits her mother, a former educator, and her father, a longtime journalist, with instilling her love of community service.
Kinsella holds a Bachelor of Science in finance from Virginia Commonwealth University and brings decades of business and analytical experience to the Board. During her first term, Kinsella served as chair, vice chair, and a board representative on the policy, strategic planning, audit and early learning preschool committees. Additionally, she's been the school board liaison for the self-insurance trust, Multilingual Family Advisory Committee, the Superintendent's Student Advisory Group, and the Henrico Education Foundation.
Kinsella and her husband, Pete, are the parents of three HCPS students attending Glen Allen High School and the ACE Centers at Hermitage and Highland Springs. Kinsella’s family and her desire to be a force for positive change in the Brookland District fuel her passion and her service to the school division and the larger Henrico community.
