With school year approaching, HCPS seeking bus drivers

Facebooktwitter

Henrico Schools is hiring full-time and substitute bus drivers. If you’re a good candidate but lack experience, don’t worry: HCPS will pay you while you learn.

Find out more at a school transportation job fair. Members of the HCPS Human Resources and Pupil Transportation departments will be at Henrico County Public Library’s new Varina branch Aug. 4 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. HCPS representatives will conduct preliminary interviews with interested bus driver candidates. Applicants are encouraged to apply online in advance at henricoschools.us/careers.

“The new school year is just around the corner and we still need bus drivers,” said Mary Alderson, HCPS human resources specialist. “Come and see the newest Henrico County library and learn why driving a bus is one of the most rewarding jobs for individuals who want a flexible schedule, extra money and who enjoy working with children. We’ll even pay you while you’re training – no experience necessary.”

Henrico Schools welcomes all candidates with good driving records and clean criminal background checks. All candidates will receive pay during a training program, which provides a Virginia commercial driver’s license and all credentials needed to transport Henrico County students on a school bus.

Candidates must be at least 21 years old; have a high school diploma or equivalent; have a valid Virginia driver’s license; pass a physical and drug test; and have no felony convictions.

When: Thursday, Aug. 4 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Where: Varina Area Library (Henrico County Public Library), 1875 New Market Road, Henrico, Va. 23231
